【Taiwan-Japan Passive House Energy Tech Collaboration】
We sincerely thank the Japan Passive House Association for this visit. The three days of exchange (October 14–16) were a great honor for us and provided invaluable learning about energy-saving technologies in Passive House construction. Over the past 30 years, tens of thousands of Passive House buildings have been constructed worldwide, with continuous operation and data verification demonstrating the feasibility of these energy-efficient technologies. Therefore, Passive House design is an indispensable technology in the global trend toward nearly zero-energy and zero-carbon buildings.
Reducing carbon emissions should not focus solely on renewable energy or lowering embodied carbon in building materials. Another key aspect is significantly reducing operational carbon, which is the carbon emitted during the building’s use. Projects from Okinawa, Japan to Tainan, Taiwan have proven the feasibility of achieving energy efficiency in hot and humid climates using Passive House principles. We look forward to applying and verifying these practices in future projects, such as banks and other multi-residential buildings.
